Dunwoody, M.S., CCC-SLPLisa is a native Houstonian and graduated from Texas A&M in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She earned a Masters of Science Degree in Communication Disorders in 1998 from Baylor University. Since graduation, she has been employed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Houston area. She spent her first years of clinical practice in the Houston area school systems diagnosing and treating children from early childhood to junior high with speech, language, voice, fluency, articulation and cognitive disorders. She has experience with the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) and with school aged autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) populations. She also has been employed on a PRN basis with Memorial Hermann Hospital diagnosing and treating patients with speech, language and cognitive disorders. Since leaving the schools she has been a private practitioner, and has focused her interest and continued education on diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders related to young and school aged children. She holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is Hanen certified as well. She is also trained in the Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson approach to oral-motor and feeding therapy, as well as the Beckman Oral Motor approach. She specializes in treatments related to childhood language disorders, PDD, articulation disorders, and auditory processing deficits. Back to Top

Amie is a
native Houstonian and graduated from Texas
A&M in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science
Degree. She earned a Masters of Science
Degree in Communication Disorders in 2001
from Baylor University. Since graduation she
has been employed as a Speech-Language
Pathologist in the Houston area.
She spent her first years in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) treating children from birth to three years with speech, language, articulation, cognition, feeding and swallowing disorders. Since leaving ECI, she has been a private practitioner. In the private setting she has had additional experience in working with children with autism, Asperger syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), and fluency disorders. While practicing, Amie has focused her interest and continuing education on diagnosing and treatment of speech and language disorders related to young and school aged children. She holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Amie is certified in Therapeutic Listening, as well as PROMPT and is trained in the Beckman Oral Motor approach and the Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson approach to oral-motor and feeding therapy. She specializes in treatments related to childhood language disorders, PDD, articulation disorders, auditory processing deficits, oral motor dysfunction, and feeding and swallowing disorders. |

Brittney was raised in
Houston and graduated from Texas A&M
University in 1997 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Health with a Community
option. She earned a Master of Occupational
Therapy in 2001 from Texas Woman�s
University, attending the Houston Center
located in the Medical Center. Brittney is
licensed to practice in the state of Texas
and has been employed as an Occupational
Therapist Registered in the Houston area
since graduation.
After graduating from Texas A&M, she was employed as an occupational therapy aide in a private pediatric clinic where she worked for nearly two years prior to attending Occupational Therapy School. She completed her Level II Fieldwork requirements for OT school at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston and Texas Children�s Health Center in Sugar Land, Texas. After graduation, she was employed on a PRN basis at Houston-area nursing homes through Life Care Centers of America treating patient�s with Alzheimer�s, arthritis, cancer, CVA, CHF, deconditioning, hip fractures, rotator cuff injuries, and spinal stenosis. She was then hired by the same pediatric clinic where she worked as an aide and worked there for nearly three years as a staff occupational therapist. Brittney treated children from early childhood to junior high with sensory integration dysfunction, developmental delays, and autism.
Brittney has worked at Speech Solutions,
L.L.P since November of 2004 and has
expanded her experience in treating children
with sensory integration dysfunction, autism
spectrum disorders, developmental delays,
Down syndrome, and feeding aversions in
children ages 15 months to 13 years of age.
In 2003, Brittney completed the
Comprehensive Program in Sensory Integration
and is able to administer and interpret the
Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT).
She is also trained in the Beckman Oral
Motor approach. She specializes in treatments related to
sensory integration dysfunction,
developmental delays, and autism spectrum
disorders. |

Toodie is a
native Houstonian and graduated from The
University of Texas in 2001 with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Child Development. She
earned a Masters of Occupational Therapy in
2003 from Texas Woman�s University. Since
graduation, she has been employed as an
Occupational Therapist in the Houston area.
She spent her first year and a half of clinical practice as the occupational therapist at the Parish School before coming to Speech Solutions. At Parish, Toodie re-evaluated and treated children from early childhood to elementary with Autism spectrum disorders, as well as children exhibiting difficulties with sensory and motor skills. Toodie has been at Speech Solutions since July of 2005. She has taken courses on treating children with Autism spectrum disorders and Handwriting Without Tears. She continues to focus on sensory integration, fine and gross motor skills and oral motor therapy with children with a variety of difficulties.
